Orion Photosensitive Systems was established in January 1988 in Karad, Maharashtra, India, by techno entrepreneurs. We started with Negative Working Wipe on Chemistry and allied plate room and pressroom chemistry.

In the course of time, in 1995, Orion developed and successfully marketed one important component of positive working offset printing plates.

The product 2-diazo, 1-naphthol, 5-sulphonic acid sodium salt and based on this compound, started manufacturing ester that is used in the production of positive working, offset PS plates.

In 2010, high energy laser exposing devices, came into the printing market, these devices required, esters suitable for high exposing and developing speed compounds.

To pursue this objective Orion, took on research and development to manufacture 2-diazo, 1-naphthol, 4-sulphonic acid.

The esters based on this compound are the main component of UV CtCP plates and the image reversal process used in the manufacturing of ICs, touch screen devices etc.

Since 2014, Orion started regular manufacturing of esters based on 2-diazo, 1-naphthol, 4-sulphonic acid.

This product is used in the ultra-modern plant of Orion Photosensitive Systems, a plate production unit.

Now, the fine chemical division of Orion Photosensitive Systems has increased its production capacity to cater, to the demand for these crucial components in the production of esters based on 2-diazo, 1-naphthol, 4-sulphonic acid.
