DNQ supply, documentation and CtCP coating — FAQ
Answers for procurement teams qualifying Orion as a DNQ supplier.
Minimum orders, export supply, documentation, Orion Next compatibility, storage and safe-light handling — the questions we hear most from plate manufacturers and photoresist formulators.
What is the minimum order quantity for DNQ sodium salt?
Minimum order quantity is 10 kg. Pack sizes range from 10 kg up to full container load depending on grade and destination. Contact sales@orionppp.com with your required quantity for pricing and lead time.
Do you supply DNQ actives outside India?
Yes. Orion supplies diazonaphthoquinone actives and coating systems to trade buyers worldwide. We provide COA, MSDS/TDS and export documentation with each shipment.
What documentation do you provide — COA, MSDS, TDS?
Every batch is supplied with a certificate of analysis (COA). Material safety data sheets (MSDS) and technical data sheets (TDS) are available for all four grades in our portfolio — download from each product page or request by email.
Can Orion Next be used with existing CtCP processors?
Yes. Orion Next plates develop in a standard positive-CtCP plate processor with the developer tank filled with plain water at 23–27 °C. No alkaline developer chemistry is required. See our method-of-use PDF for full process parameters.
Is developer-free CtCP technology suitable for commercial print?
Orion Next is designed for commercial and packaging offset print. Plates are negative-working, sensitive at 360–375 nm for standard UV laser plate setters, and coat at 1.7–1.8 g/m² on anodised aluminium.
What is the difference between CAS 64173-96-2 and CAS 3770-97-6?
CAS 64173-96-2 is the 2-diazo-1-naphthol-4-sulphonic acid sodium salt — a water-soluble DNQ building block used in coating synthesis. CAS 3770-97-6 is the esterified DNQ-cresol resin one-pack (Freedom Plus 1413) — a ready photoactive resin for plate-coating lacquers and photoresists.
How should DNQ actives be stored?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture. Keep containers sealed between use. Orion Freedom 2-1-4 and Freedom Plus 1413 are supplied as yellow powder with controlled moisture (2.5% max). Contact us for shelf-life guidance for your storage conditions.
What safe light is required when handling Orion Next?
Handle Orion Next coating and undeveloped plates under yellow safe light only. Do not expose unexposed or undeveloped plates to daylight or white light before development is complete — non-image areas will cure and the plate will print background.
